Culinary Demonstrations and Container Gardening Rooftop Event at H Street Farm

Join our FREE educational collaborative rooftop event to increase food sustainability.

If you are interested in creating a container garden that can work in any size space and then cooking from your own bounty, this demo-filled event is for you!

In our collective effort to reduce food insecurity, we are accepting donations of new spices/herbs and new kitchen utensils for Housewarming Baskets for individuals and families going into affordable housing. With your help, families can be equipped with the tools necessary to make delicious meals at home!

Program Schedule

1:00 – 2:00 pm – Container Gardening Demo by H Street Farm

2:15 – 4:00 pm – Cooking demos by Good Foods Market and Byron Daniels of Daniels Catering

3:30 – 4:00 pm – Self-guided Farm Tour

COCKTAIL WEEK PAIRING

For D.C. Cocktail Week, we are partnering with Sally’s Middle Name. For the week, Sally’s Middle name will pair The Golden Hind (made with One Eight Distilling District Made Barrel Aged Gin, local apple brandy, local amaretto, and black walnut bitters) with a pan fried pork belly, rye crouton, apple honey and fermented jalapeños. The pairing is $18 and available during dinner service Wednesday - Sunday.

We are partnering with Roots for Life for cocktail week; for each pairing sold we will donate $1 to Roots for Life. Their work is centered in food insecure areas in Washington, D.C., and focuses on connecting individuals to locally grown fruits and vegetables.
