Have You Tried Jackfruit?

Have you tried jackfruit? You should!

When ripe, jackfruit tastes like a combination of banana, apple, and mango. When it is unripened, jackfruit is truly amazing, because it has a mild flavor and has a texture similar to pulled pork and can be used as a tasty meat alternative. Trust me! Jackfruit soaks up the flavors around it when used in this way, and you’d never know it was a fruit.

Jackfruit is available fresh and frozen, and it’s excellent for both good nutrition and convenience. If you’re buying fresh jackfruit, choose one that is a few days away from being ripe. It should give off a sweet smell and “give” when you press on it.

Nutrient Content

Jackfruit is fat free, saturated fat free, cholesterol free, sodium free, high in vitamin C, and a good source of fiber, vitamin B2, copper, manganese, magnesium, and potassium.

How to store

Store jackfruit in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. Frozen jackfruit can be stored for more than 2 months.
